Retail Leaders Graduate Program

As a Coles Retail Leader Graduate, you start your career at the heart of our business - in one of our supermarkets. This twelve month intensive development program will fast-track your management career, and allow you to put your retail experience to use immediately.

Our focus is on developing strong leaders for our stores, so you will be given the opportunity to rotate across each department over the first six-month period (Dairy, Deli, Fresh Produce, Meat, Grocery, Service, Seafood and Bakery), plus have exposure to senior manager roles in store - you'll even get to manage a department on your own. You'll be mentored and guided by a senior operational manager so that your learning is accelerated and you gain confidence in your abilities.

At the completion of this twelve month program, you will ideally be ready to be placed into a senior department manager role in one of our stores. You will have the opportunity to join internal development programs to continue to further your career.

Quick fact

Working in the retail industry provides flexible opportunities as our working weeks are not structured like traditional office based businesses.

A key attribute that we look for in people is flexibility, as you'll be required to work rotating weekends, evenings and holiday periods.  You will work every second weekend or a Saturday one week and a Sunday the next, this can be agreed upon with your store manager.  At the same time, you will enjoy time off during the week.
